Greetings New, Returning and Crash n Burning Rhythm and Breath Yogis,
This is our first 40 day meditation of 2026! How are we feeling about this year? More of the same? A continuation of the previous year? Perhaps trepidation of what is around the bend individually or collectively? Honestly, I have been losing sleep over the state of things: feeling a lot of fear of getting hemmed up by those nafarious creatures. You know the ones. But before I let despair take me over, I remind myself that a loving and compassionate God has my back, my front and every side of me. I have trusted the process, and this practice, thus far. So I have to keep trusting. Don't we say it in our Warrior Healer Affirmations, "I trust and surrender to the process, Divine Loving hands move all?" Let's keep going. Let's tap into our inner voice to receive guidance putting our minds, souls and bodies at ease. I need this. I bet you do too.
POSTURE: Sit in Easy Pose. If you are unable to sit in "easy pose," you may sit on a hard chair and cross your feet underneath you.
TO BEGIN: Roll your eyes in and up towards your third-eye by crossing your eyes at the bridge of your nose and then lifting your eyes about an inch and a half.
On two breaths, chant the opening mantra ONG NA MA sip air through a rounded mouth then chant GURU DEV NAMO which means "I bow to the infinite wisdom within." Do this 3 times. For the proper cadence and pronunciation, listen here. If you like what you hear, you can purchase my mantra music on Bandcamp.
This meditation has two parts.
PART ONE
MUDRA: Make the hands into a cup with the palms facing up. Leave a small gap between the sides of the Mercury (pinkie) fingers. Bow the head forward over the palms. Look into the palms with the eyes almost closed.
PRANAYAMA: Inhale in 10 strokes. Exhale in ten stokes.
MANTRA: Mentally vibrate the mantra WHAAHO GURU. Vibrate Whaaho with each segment of the inhale and Guru with each segment of the exhale.
