Welcome back new, returning and crash n burning R & B Yogis! This is the last 40 day meditation of 2025 and it will take us into the New Year. We begin the New Moon in Capricorn on December 20th. This one is a celestial communication. Celestial Communications are meditations that consist of movements, or gestures, along with a word or phrase, not necessarily mantras created by a Kundalini teacher. Celestial Communications are not an official part of the Kundalini Research Institute repertoire but are equally as valid and effective. And in this case are very much a part of Rhythm & Breath. This celestial communication was inspired by a dap me and my mentor who was a former Black Panther would do when bidding each other farewell. I have since shared it with the community in classes and workshops. It was empowering to say the least. Since we have never done it before as a virtual group, I felt it would be a good one for us to do especially after such a rough year politically and personally. This meditation will remind us of our connection to each other, our communities and world. And that we have and will always have the power.
TO BEGIN: Sit in an Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh, or neck lock. Keep the spine straight. Rub your hands together. Press your thumbs against your sternum holding your hands in prayer pose. Roll your eyes in and up towards your third-eye by crossing your eyes at the bridge of your nose and then lifting your eyes about an inch and a half. If you are unable to sit in "easy pose," you may sit on a hard chair and cross your feet underneath you.
On two breaths, chant the opening mantra ONG NA MA GURU DEV NAMO which means "I bow to the infinite wisdom within." Do this 3 times. For the proper cadence and pronunciation, listen here. If you like what you hear, you can purchase my mantra music on Bandcamp.
MUDRA: Hold your LEFT hand in Gyan Mudra and with a straight elbo rest your wrist on your knee. Your RIGHT hand is in a fist with your elbow close to your side. You dap in front of you, then hit your fist to your chest and then bring your fist up to the side in a "Black Power" mudra.
MANTRA: When you dap to the front say: POWER TO YOU
When you hit your heart with your fist say: POWER TO ME
When you bring your fist to the air say: POWER TO THE PEOPLE
FOCUS: Keep the eyes closed.
PRANAYAMA: Normal breathing.
TIME: 11 minutes
TO FINISH: Say aloud the Warrior Healer's Affirmations.
TO CLOSE: Rub your hands together and bring them to prayer pose, palms touching thumbs pressed against your sternum. Chant Long SAT NAM on one breath. Repeat this for a total of three times. Bring your hands to your forehead and bow. This seals the work in your frontal lobe. Your center for decision making.
